how to assign a name to my web application's IP address and port
Hi all,
If I developed a site and when I obviously run the application (which is developed using JAVA) using, say Tomcat, I do give the ip address and the port number in the address bar to run the appliation.
Now I would like to know that, how to assign a name for my ip address and port jointly so that, as I type the name, it should represent the ip address and port I preferred.
Ex. www.yahoo.com has an ip address and port number assigned to the name "Yahoo". So, for my application say, I want to call it as www.sample.com, "sample" should represent my ip address and port number where the application runs. So, when as soon as I type www.sample.com, MY APPLICATION SHOULD RUN. Plz help me as soon as possible. plzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
