Using SQL to Export MySQL Result Sets to Excel

    Hi

I am building a website that needs to provide the users an option to download result sets to an excel sheet. I therefore need an SQL statement that will enable me to export the result set to an Excel sheet. (Using the 'export to excel' in the MySQL query browser will not work for my case)

Does anyone know of any SQL statements that will enable me to export datasets to excel sheets?

I don't know of any SQL statements that will export an Excel file, but there are numerous examples of how to do so using ASP, ASP.NET, PHP, etc. I suspect that you'll have to implement code on your Web server to convert the data returned from your database into CSV or some other format Excel understands, and set the appropriate response header to tell the user's browser that it's an Excel file.
