java web start question

I am trying to launch an application from a web site using using Java Web Start, I followed the docs and created a keystore and signed the jar etc.
When I launch the app in my browser it goes through the process of checking for newer versions etc then it says its starting the app but it seems to just get stuck there, the progress bar goes back and forth indefinately.
Sorry if the question is a bit vague but it does'nt give any errors or anything like that.
Any ideas ?

Turn the console on so you can see any errors.
