Position: Senior Java Software Engineer for Fixed Income Trading Development
The Senior Java Software Engineer will play a significant role in the design and development of real-time custom trading applications for capital markets using Java/J2EE technology. Candidates must have experience in delivering real-time mission critical service based Java applications and preferably a good understanding of J2EE and enterprise technology. Working as part of a team the Senior Java Software Engineer will be involved in all aspects of Software lifecycle from pre-sales & requirements capture through to deployment, support and maintenance. Candidates must be able to display strong Object Oriented design and analysis skills.
We are looking for intelligent, professional candidates with a strong technical background, with some real-time, high volume distributed systems experience, or experience in building sophisticated Java server applications. Experience in financial services or finance industry a plus.
Iris Financial develops custom applications in the capital markets domain using our component services architecture. Senior members of the engineering staff are expected to contribute to the design and implementation of library-level as well as application-level customer-specific software components. The Senior Java Software Engineer will work closely with a geographically distributed group of engineers in San Francisco, London, and Tokyo. The ideal candidate must be able to educate our clients on using our components and architecture effectively. We are looking for an individual with great communications and mentoring skills.
This is an ideal opportunity for a highly motivated engineer to join a small software company with a history of delivering complex custom systems to top tier financial institutions.
Experienced developer, at least 3 years experience.
Understanding of Java topics such as multithreading, garbage collection, and memory debugging.
Strong Object Oriented Analysis and Design skills.
Strong communications and presentation skills.
Experience building or maintaining server applications in Java.
Good understanding of and hand-on experience with J2EE
Capital markets domain knowledge & experience, or an appetite to learn.
Java Swing programming experience.
Other pluses: XML, JNI, JTA, JSP, UML, JUnit, C#
