best book to learn java
does anyone know a book or cd or anything that teaches you java for a person that doesn't know java and want to learn? i am also looking for a book that has alot of examples of some basic java programs..

i can suggest u a very good book for java.. it is thinking in java by bruce eckels. this is a very nice book where the e-book is also available free of cost in the web.. if u want i will give u the link to download it..

i wanna order that cd called ( Thinking in Java ) but i dont know which version should i order.. any suggessions?

the newest version of the book (including Java 5, generics, etc.) is in most bookstores and available through Amazon, etc.

thinking in java edition 4 you get it.. it seems to be good as far as i have seen. and if u could have a minimal knowledge about java then u can do miracles with bruce's explanation in that book... if u r not able to get 4 get 3.. that will do..

I'm sorry; I would like for you to have them but the cost to ship those books internationally would be more than the value of the books themselves.
