    sql server 2000

    i have developed my project in my system i have sql 2000 database.but now i want to implement the project in my client's system my client wants to keep the database in one system & access it from another system will it be a problem bcoz my sql server name i have given in oledbdataadaptor is fernando but my client system's sql server name is different

    Just store your connection string in, and read it from, the App.config file. If the user has a different server name he can simply modify the App.config file and change the server name.

    You should be able to see it in the Project file list. There are different ways to work with it depending on the version of Visual Studio.NET you are using.

    sql server 200

    thank you v.much for ur quick response


    but this is a windows app. & i'm using vs.net '03

    i checked but .config file is not available

    Did you look in your project folder? It's possible that it may not be visible in the Solution Explorer.

    If there is no .config file in your project you can add one. Just select Project...Add New Item...and select the Application Configuration File template.
