Java and sound playback
I know how to play back midi and linear PCM encoded wav files in java, but I was wondering if someone could help me provide support for other audio types (e.g. the other .wav files, mp3 etc), as I'm doing a media player for a small coursework project in university, and to be restricted to two file types would be rather rubbish :P
thank you in advance

have a look at http://www.jsresources.org/
there is support for the required audio files.

have you looked at JMF (Java Media Framework)
I believe there is a plug in for JMF so you can play mp3 which is probably what your looking for.
