How to reduce the size of priv.edb in exchange
Well after having this problem and finding the solution here is how I did it.
First I set up a virtual drive (F:\) using a computer with enough space to do the defragmentation...
Then I went into command prompt and Typed in the following :
C:\ (or wherever your OS is located)
eseutil /d /ispriv /tF:\tempedb.edb
That works!
I tried many other ways thats the only way that will work if you are running NT 4.0 with no space left on the HD with priv.edb on it...
Notes
This was on a NT 4.0 Server with no disk space left.
It will hang after it reaches 100% let it go don't close it... IT will take a while but its doing it. This clears out the "white space" in the file it cut priv.edb in half for me and knocked 1mb off of pub.edb (because no one deletes public e mails).
MAKE SURE THE DRIVE/FOLDER YOU SET UP AS F:\ HAS 110% THE SIZE OF PRIV.EDB FREE.
Enjoy!
