    SAFEARRAYS

Does anyone know if VB.NET still uses SAFEARRAYS and other similar COM
    elements?

Can anyone refer me to some documentation on this sort of thing?

    Thanks.

Definitely NOT. Safearrays support non-zero lower bounds.

Hmmm... Guess they haven't published stuff like what an array "looks like"
    internally.

    Thanks.

Yeah, I know about that. Thought it'd still be possible to implement them
    internally as SAFEARRAYs though.

Looks like trying to write a DLL for arrays is just yet another thing that
    will need to be relearned.

It may not "use" them, but it should be able to interact with one
(according to Adam Nathan @ Microsoft):
