Retreiving local network information
I need help (not THAT sort of help). I've been searching for a while, in
vain, for a code snippet to enable me to write a program to browse folders
and files on Windows network shares. I need to be able to browse domains,
workgroups, machine names, folders, files, etc... and I need to do it using
.NET code. Either C# or VB.NET.
I'm trying to write a .NET Windows form control to do this, but I've been
stumped. Can sonbody who has a better understanding than me please help.
Use Directory Services classes
You can look at System.DirectoryServices namespace for getting domains, user, groups etc. information. The following link has some useful articles on these topics.
