Re: c# compiler
I have installed the .NET Framework and VS.NET on WinME and Windows 2000.
I'm pretty sure you can install VS.NET on WinNT as well. The only thing you
should consider when installing the following:
If you are just programming console Apps and Windows Forms either OS will
be fine.
If you want to do anything Web Related (WebServices, Web Applications, etc...)
and test them locally, you should install on Windows 2000 Server. If you
have access to a Test Server that is running the .NET framework - either
O/S should work.

Re: c# compiler
From what I understand you can only install VS.NET on Win2000. It hasn't
been ported to any other OS's yet.

Re: c# compiler
Radhakrishnan,
I have successfully loaded and currently run the full Visual Net Beta 1
on two separate machines, a 600MH, 256 MB, WIN2K, and in your case
a 233MH, 64MB, NT4.0 service pack 5 machine. Naturally, the 256MB
machine runs better, but I'm going to upgrade it to 512MB soon. The
64MB NT4.0 machine runs the IDE.NET poorly but successfully. I use
both VB.NET and C#.NET with both machines. I definetly want to upgrade
from 64MB to 512MB but it belongs to my client and they don't want to
pay for the Dell memory. Memory size is the most important feature.
