Objects, Methods and Properties
I am new to Visaul Basic and I have a question, which for some of you guys may be a simple one. I want to know if there is a way to list the the methods and properties of an object if you know the object but dont know it methods and properties so you can better able to use the object.
Let me explain a bit further. I recently got a job in a Call Center where they use Avaya CentreVu CMS to run all their reports. The program uses VBScript in the background, therefore one is able to manipulate the scripts to automate with Excel etc. The problem I am having is that I have searched high and low for documentation on the different objects and methods that the program supports but have only come accross several people who are in the same situation as me and no one with any answers.
If you perform an action with the program and then view the script that generated the action you will see the object(s) that was/were used and its parameters but I need to know what each parameter is for etc. So I figured if there was a way I could write a code that would list the the parameters of the objects then essentially I would be able to manipulate each object as I go along.
Please help me on this one.
I'm surprised that you're having problems getting documentation from Avaya... They usually have decent docs.
But if that fails (and it sounds like it has)...
After setting a reference to the Avaya objects in Excel or whatever Visual Basic host you're using, have you tried using the object browser? That's the tool for browsing objects in Visual Basic.
I tried that but no luck. Thanks for the help though
