    Where to go from here - IDE?

    Hi all,

    I wonder if I could ask for some advice. I am learning Java with the Open University in the UK and they use BlueJ as the instrtuction tool.

    The only problem is that I would rather spend some time learning it by using an IDE, otherwise I will have some skills that I can't use elsewhere!

    Could anyone suggest an easy IDE that is readily available for use that would be good for me in a learning environment. Especially if they have lots of instructional tutorials and the like.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    If I have understood you well.
    You can use something like:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/
    We can use the BlueJ every where.
    Wish you the best,

    Kinda,

    Many thanks. The documentation links are great.....looks like I will be looking at Netbeans.

    Cheers

    I have actually downloaded both. I will try and spend some time finding out the easier (with regards documentation and good tutorials).

    My main problem now is the transfer of the code between BlueJ and the others. I'm afraid it will take time to get away from
    OUDialog.request("This is easy");
    to
    JOptionPane.showInputDialog("Enter your pin number");

    Ah well no one said it was easy......
