Migrating from VB6 to VB.NET
Hi,
i'm not sure if i'm in the correct forum here.
We have this application that we have been working on for about 2 years.
It's a VB6 app with an Oracle-database.
We have been trying to convince our projectleader and his boss to migrate to .NET. Now finally they are looking into migrating the application.
My projectleader's boss is convinced that it can be done using the migration-wizzard from Microsoft. We are trying to find good arguments why we don't want to use it.
We have to convince him that rewriting the app is more interesting than using the wizzard.
There is no clear architecture for the app so if we would rewrite it, we would start by setting up a good framework and the n-tier-design.
So if you can help me out with good reasons why we should rewrite it and why we shouldn't use the wizzard, it would be greatly appreciated.
