Apache/Linux Borland C++ Builder Question
Can anyone help to point me in the right direction. Im trying to use Borland C++ Builder 6 to write cgi stand alone programs for Apache/Linux server but I run Windows 2000 Advanced server on my computer I have Apache server on here as well but It is 2.2 and the my host is 1.3 I was wondering if any one could help me with configuration or a library that would make this easier. I have some simple programs running but anything more complicated doesn't work. Help Please. It is appreciated.

You weren't specific about which tasks exactly you need to design and implement but maybe the ACE framework can simplify some of the tasks. It's very portable. Also, you want to look at some of the Boost libararies (www.boost.org). Some of them can be relevant too.

Well main issue is portability from my computer to my server and a good framework for web development in C\C++, either one, to start from. I was planning on developing a forum app to start with then some e commerce solutions for a portfolio and (mainly)practice. I also was wondering how to configure Borland for cross platform and for CGI not there standard web Services templates that use SOAP. :confused: The server configuration issues are probably better answered in another forum.

The Boost libraries are pretty portable I believe, so you want to give it a try. Simply look at the header files and the documentation on the site to determine how portable it is.
