Java Swing Guru Wanted (Work From Home)
Shazzle is lookig for a Java Swing guru to join our Shazzle team.
Qualifications include:
· Extensive, hands-on development experience using Java Swing, including:
· Expert-level understanding of MVC development with Swing
· Expert-level understanding of Swing threading and events
· Ground-up development of multi-windowed desktop applications
· Creation of custom renderers, specifically for JTable and JTree
· Generation of reusable custom UI components
· UI performance profiling and tuning
· Understanding of recent (JDK1.5+) improvements to Swing
· Hands-on experience customizing a Java Look & Feel
· Ability to translate screen design into well-architected Swing components
· Experience with source code management and build tools (such as SVN, Ant)
· Prior experience working with a commercial software company preferred
· Prior experience working with a geographically disparate team preferred
Note that this is a senior level development position. Only individuals capable and interested in demanding and fast-paced Swing development should apply. While some mentoring of developers may be required, this is primarily a coding, non-management opportunity. Knowledge and ability is paramount, regardless of years of experience.
The person who fills this position will be heavily involved in the design and development of a cutting-edge, peer-to-peer consumer application. The right person will have an opportunity to help shape the way the general public uses the internet in years to come.
