    java automatic shutdown

    when my java program shutdowns automatically or shutdowns when the system shut downs or or when systems crashes ,,, i want to perform some actions like updating database....

    how can i do this ...

    Your program must detect the shutdown and you can do that in a windowlistener in the main application frame that handles the windowClosing event.

    I'm not so sure about saving stuff during a system crash though, but it would be a really nice feature
    eschew obfuscation
