GAC comes in Classic ASP or in Dotnet Framework

Guys,

A simple one here.... Please let me know... whether GAC ( Global Assembly Cache) comes with Dotnet framework or it is also present in Classic ASP ....
My search on the net .... is of no use....
Please provide any link that could be of any use........ related to classic asp using gac....for registering dll......if it is possible....?

GAC is .NET only. Classic ASP uses the system registry to find COM components.

Could you please tell me whether GAC is installed with Dotnet framework or visual studio with out dotnet like vb,etc....?

One thing more, how do i register a dll from Dot net in asp and use the same in my code......?
