hi everyone heres what i want to accomplsih someone please point me in the right direction.

when a user logs in, if he/she is on someones contact list then the user shoudl show up on that persons list. as of right now i have it changing the user status in a database, but the access time takes too long to keep checking that, whats a faster way to do this? Thanks
