Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition
Does anyone have any experience with the free Microsoft development enviroment called Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition?
I have downloaded and installed it and I notice it is a lot different than what I am used to.
Is MFC gone? If you click on New to create a New Project, the only options I see a tree to the left side are:
CLR
Win32
General What is CLR? What happened to MFC? I found MFC had problems anyway. But what has replaced it?

MFC is alive and well last I heard, although it is supposed to be slowly going away (?).
See if you can do win32 and add mfc in a checkbox or something. I have not used express but probably you can do something along those lines.

You can safely ignore the CLR option so long as you're using real C++.
MFC is still there under Win32.
