    Improving Winforms repaint performance...

    G'day.

I was hoping someone else would have a tip or two to help me out a little.

I have deployed a windows forms app to a customer site. All is well, except
that a fair few of their machines are mere PIIs with 32mb ram. On these machines,
the clients complain of performance being "dog slow", with the main culprit
being the painting of individual forms. Apparently, the screen repaints very
slowly, little at a time, so you get that definite "painting" look, rather
than a snappy screen popping up all ready to go.

Anyone know of any way to tune up the painting performance of a windows form?

    Cheers,
    Paul

Tell your users that they're lucky the app even runs on a P2 with 32mb.

(The best way to tune up the painting performance is to upgrade to a P3/4
    with 128mb or more).
