    Python Forum

Just a quick point about if there would ever be a Python section of this forum as this is a language which is really cool and would be a great addition to this site and its function as a source of help.

We are giving Python a shot on our Codeguru forums at:
    http://www.codeguru.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=95

Unfortunately, it isn't getting much interest there. Since Codeguru has a lot more traffic than the DevX forum right now, that doesn't bode well for Python doing well here either.

    Sorry,

    Brad!

    I should add....
If we start seeing a lot of questions and answers on Python in our general forum here, then we would spin them out into their own forum.

Thanks for the reply Brad, I'm actually gonna jump on codeguru and get involved. I was acutally wondering about python in general, I've been flirting with it a bit because I've heard a few good grumbles about it elsewhere. I currently trying to improve my coding OOP/D wise because I'm planning a project to code Tools. I was looking at Python because its really new and is very similar to stuff I've learnt before. Was just wondering what the general opinion was about Python as a programming language snd difference between coding tools in python and creating tools in C++ which is what most video game developers use to code tools.

I'm not a python users, so I can't provide any constructive comments on the language. Ask at Codeguru as there are some guys there that can comment. They'll be able to compare it to C++ for you too.

I know Game programming is a lot of C++ and even some C. There are a lot of toolkits and libraries depending on the type of game programming you are wanting to do and what platforms you are targeting. I know that XNA Studio from Microsoft actually uses C#. It is getting good buzz. I think if I were to want to dabble in game programmign today, I'd look at a tool like it. But that is me
