    How to hide AJAX calls?

    Hello,

Websites such as http://www.autotrader.co.uk manage to hide their ajax calls so they cant be seen in firebug, could anybody show me how to do this?

    Kind Regards,
    Justin Mays

    They don't

I could be wrong, but I don't think it is hidden. They just use a library. Am I wrong?

    Hello,

Thanks for replying, how does using a library prevent autotrader's ajax calls from being displayed in firebug?

    Thanks.

Cool Actually I think I was wrong

Ok actually I think you are right. They must be doing some crazy stuff. I might be way off on this, but it looks like they are creating temporary Javascript. In other words somewhere there is a function that is to be called when a button is clicked. Then the onclick functions for that button are inside that javascript. It does the ajax and then the javascript is removed again.

This is really a complete guess, but that's what it looked like to me.

I think the AJAX is actually talking to a Javascript file. That website seems to use some strange techniques. The functions that are called when you click a button don't exist originally. I'm sure there are people out there that could better answer your question, but this is my best attempt.

What are you doing that needs that much security anyway?
