sql server unable to open connection

    hi,

I am using sql server 2000, but the following error will be occured on open a connection. Pls give solution for this error

An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)

    Which one are you using?

You will not get an error for SQL Server 2005 if you are using SQL Server 2000.

    Hi thirumca,

This error may occur if any faults in your connection with server machine, so check your network connection...
