The Windows Taskbar ...
VB6/WinXP. My App works fine on my computer in both design mode and after being compiled into an .exe, but when used on both a friend's computer and my brother's they have an issue with the Window's Taskbar popping up in front of the Main App form, cutting off data displayed at the bottom of the form. It does not do this on my own Windows Desktop.
On my own computer (XP) I do have the option 'Keep Taskbar on top of other windows', but don't have 'Lock the Taskbar" checked. They both insist their Taskbars are not locked, but I have no way of checking myself (across country).
Is there some other reason why the Taskbar is not falling out of the way as designed, or ... Is there some way in VB for me to check and see the status of the Taskbar after my App has started so I can message the User on what to do to fix it?
Any help or advice is appreciated.
Thank you ...

What screen resolution are they running and what are you running?

Screen res ... ahh ... I believe they both run higher res than I do. So then VB (or Windows), sees there is no real need to drop the Taskbar, since they can just move their app window, therefore it stays up. Yes?
Thanks!

Hack, one of my people (a Vista user) is asking if there is any way to unlock the taskbar if they want to drop it down out of the way completely (like we can do with XP). He can't seem to find a way to unlock it and is insulted that he may not even have the option. lol.

Right click on an open space on the taskbar, a list will come up and one of them is Lock the Taskbar (just above properties)...
Good Luck

Those are precisely the instructions I sent, and yet, failure.
I make it a point not to waste too much time on issues where there is a better than average chance for the problem being User error or oversight. That means I'm done with it.
Thanks for help!
