Hi, kind of new to AJAX. I was reading up on the w3schools tutorial, everything seemed to go a-ok.

I was able to execute a script which updated my database via AJAX, however it didn't function correctly for IE8(expected).

After looking around I thought, wait...just use jquery. Well, as luck would have it, even with the latest version of jquery I still experienced the same issue with IE8 refusing to execute the script via AJAX.

Code:
<header>
<script type = "text/javascript" src = "exactlocation/jquery-1.3.2.js"></script>
</header>
<?php
$jquery = '
<script type = "text/javascript">
$.get("exactlocation/mod_flexbanner_AJAX.php",{id : "'.$banner->bannerid.'"});
</script>
';
	   echo $jquery;
?>
pretty straight forward right? So what's the deal, am I missing something obvious?
