    Restrict Drive Access

    I want to restrict access to a drive using vb.net

    Do you have admin rights over the drive?

    By restrict you mean "from your program", right?

    This is the job of an administrator, not something for an application, so think carefully about it. And if you decide to go for it, they won't make it easy on you.

    Because of security, I do not think there is a class.method to do it directly in .NET. But you might be able to call the SetShareInfo API function. I would start my search from there.

    And be aware that anyway, the user will have to be an administrator in order to be able to use an application with such a feature.

    The Folder Guard Softwares deny the access to a drive or makes the drive read only.


    I want that kind of functionality to be implemented using vb.net code
