    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Hi !

Disclaimer: yes, I am very new to this!

I inherited a VB 6 application that at one time ran SQL queries and stored the results into a temporary Access database with the results displayed by Crystal Reports. I am trying to retain the functionality of the application and "port" the SQL data it retrieves straight into a SQL database (table) for retrieval later by reporting Services.

If you're still with me, thanks and here's what I "think" I need to do:

1.How and where in the VB 6 code does one specify the connection to
the SQL database I am using as a test environmnet ?

    2. I know where the existing funcction is in the vb 6 code that ports the data to Crystal which is what I want to replace ...grab that SQL query result and put it in a SQL database / table ....what would the syntax look like?

Thanks ....for just even reading this !

    In a mess,

    IAmScott

There is not specific spot. It could be anywhere. Typically I get a sub in a module called OpenDB and that is where my connection code goes. Open up a code window in the startup form, and start looking around. You will find something in there.

How much experience do you have in writing SQL?
