Not sure what to do?
Hi,
I want a web based program which will consist of modules, mostly online databases for reporting issues. Also want an online filing system to be able to upload scanned documents. Must be able to only print documents from webpage but not download.
Please advise which way should I look at doing it. I am thinking PHP front and vb.net for the databases !!
Please advise - all help will be appreciated

Why do you need to bring in VB.NET? PHP can handle dealing with databases.

I do not know php at all but found out that it can be done by using mysql.
My question is
I want to have master forms on my web page and want people to be able to save them to an online folder and be able add a company logo, then be able to save but keep in a folder online for that person. Only be able to print but not download document.
Is this possible ?

If you don't know PHP, then why did you throw it into the mix?
I'm sure what you want can be done...what web specific development languages do you know?
If you are familiar with VB.NET then perhaps ASP.NET might be worthy of consideration.

I am not going to do the project myself but have heard that PHP is more often used for web applications. I am not familiar with any web languages.

I keep getting more confused.
If you are not going to do the project, then what does it matter whether you know PHP or not?
I would use PHP...based on the sketchy details I don't see a need to bring VB.NET into it.

I would like to be able to maintain it and understand the workings. As I said I have no knowledge of PHP but know a little of vb.net and Sql. If there is no obvious gain by using PHP then I would like it to be done using vb.net and sql.
