    SQL Server 7 vs SQL Server 2000


    I am just gettting into database design. Do I invest in SQL Server 7 or SQL
    Server 2000

    Can't think of a single reason to stay in 7.0. 2000 is simply better, and a
    no-brainer to update to.

    As Dave said, you cannot really purchase SQL 7 anymore. You can purchase
    a 2k License and Downgrade. That is install 7 until your software can be
    bumped up.

    If you are purchasing personally, or ?? keep the developer version in mind.
    Much cheaper, about $ 400.

    feature, go with 2000
