Sorry I didnt read that part

The runtime files are usually found in your windows system folder. To be
sure they are installed and registered on your system properly, I reccommend
you use the install wizard of VFP to get them all (and correctly installed)
for your particular version of VFP.

Thank You I hope this works

I ran the setup again and installed all files. I must be missing something.
My partner's cpu can open the program, so his cpu has files that mine doesn't.
I had him find all dll files in his vfp folder and send me the ones I was
missing. Should I do the same for the windows/system directory. I really
behind...sorry. I have fvp-pro 5.0 edition. Do I need to install from the
    original vfp?

    Re: FoxPro Error

If you're running VFP 5, you have to be sure you've got Visual Studio '97
Service Pack 3. This had updates to the Setup Wizard that you'll need to
    have. http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/sp/vs97/default.asp

Be aware that this is different than the current Visual Studio 6, Service
    Pack 4 for VFP 6.

    Thanks for all your help.
I went to link and downloaded all files and followed the instructions. It
didnt fix the problem. I'm not sure what to do. I'm going to get another
person's workstation that was able to use the foxpro without error. I'm
gonna compare files and copy any that I'm missing. Unless you have another
idea???? The guy who built the database with FoxPro was bought out and no
longer works for company. He is reachable though, if you need me to ask
    him questions.

    Here is what I'm doing
clicking on shortcut to G:\Lafayette\laf.exe icon, which is on server
    start in: C:\vfp
Then I'm getting "Cannot locate the Microsoft FoxPro support library."

So, any ideas on what to do next?

Thanks for all the help so far....I'm so greatful.

    Re: FoxPro Error

Did you create an updated set of run-time files and use the Setup Wizard to
create a new version of SETUP.EXE? When you run this SETUP.EXE it should
handle placing all needed files in the proper folders and updating the
    registry.

Is there number I could call you at, this is so hard to do?

    1. What I did was download vssp3_1 through vssp3_9 into vfp
    directory.
    2. double clicked on vssp3_1 in the folder of explorer.
    3. It opened msdos window and extracted all the files
    4. Then I double clicked the setup.exe
    5. It said it updated the necessary files

Is that what you were asking...I feel so ignorant. Thanks for the patience.

here is sample of what the updating looked like:
    1. The Service Pack ("Service Pack") contains updated
versions of one or more of the software products listed herein.
    2. I clicked accept
    3. here sample of what happened

    ============================
    01/30/01 12:31:33
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\mfc42.dll - File is up to date
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\msvcrt.dll - File is up to date
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\odbccr32.dll - File is up to date
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\comctl32.ocx - File is up to date
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\msrdo20.dll - File is up to date
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\vfpodbc.dll - File is up to date

    Microsoft Visual FoxPro - C:\VFP
    =============================================

    C:\VFP\vfp.exe - Copied Successfully
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\vfp500.dll - Copied Successfully
    C:\VFP\vfp5.dll - Copied Successfully
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\vfp5enu.dll - Copied Successfully

did I do all that right?

Do I need to run the Wzsetup.exe or Wizard.exe
If so I know I'll need help with that because I walked through a little of
it but hit cancel....just looking to see what it was.

    Re: FoxPro Error

Sounds like it. Now you need to be in the IDE of VFP and run the Setup
Wizard that's inside VFP. You'll make an installation SETUP.EXE that you
need to run on each workstation.

Follow the directions in HELP for SETUP WIZARD and Chapters on Creating
Distribution Disks. It's not that hard.

    ok that sisnt work

I click on laf.exe which is on server in the g:\lafayette\laf.exe
Then it should bring up the program which asks for
    User Name
    Password

Then once thats entered correctly it opens another screen where you access
the leads database. I find the lead I want to access and update it. Then
    print forms needed.

I'm still getting the error:"can not locate microsoft foxpro support library."

On the workstation I ran the Wzsetup application

I went through the steps, not sure if I did that correctly...However I never
had to do that from work when my cpu was there.

    Im so freaking screwed uh?

Oh, this is getting painful. You need to have an install file that INCLUDES the

Go to <http://www.caracal.net/vfp6lib.exe> That is an install file with the
