I have a acquired a sql server 7.0 db from another group and I want to find
out if there are people still using it, its uptime etc. I think I used one
recently but canot remember which and would appreciate if anyone can help.

You MAY visit sysinternals.com, they have a utility called uptime for calculating
Windows NT Resource Kit utility has a utility called SRVINFO.EXE which would
get you server uptime. I am not aware of SQL server uptime. Hope to get more
Also performance monitor has an object called system and counter called
System Up time which will get you the required info.
As to the no. of people using your server, you should be able to have a look
at sp_who and get good info as to what they are doing, which process they
are running etc.
