Hash Text in XML????

I am using the Microsoft Crypto API to hash some text. The hashed text stored
fine in SQL Server, but the Microsoft XML Parser chockes if the hashed text
is included in XML.

I have tried storing the hashed text as binary data but it chokes trying
to convert the text to base64. I have tried putting the hashed text in a
CDATA section of an element. Still chokes!

Does anyone have any idea how to include this data in XML?

Stay with base64! XML is tagged text.
