    Building my client/server app

I'm a Visual Basic 4.0 Professional edition programmer, and now I would like
to start programm Client/server apps. A friend told me that I need to purchase
VB Studio 6.0 Enterprise edition, which has all the tools I need to start
    my programming.
Can any one be more specific and give me a little help.

What kind of client /server applciation are you intend to build?
Building a client server application to not reside in my mind on the VB 6
itself cause I am building one actually with Winsock control and VB5.

Lets say its more depending on what is available today. And I thing you can
still purchase VB6 for sure and VB net. YOur choice will be more guide on
your experiment in VB and the time you need to get your application ready.

If your are familar with VB4, you might choose VB6 in order to not get lost
casue moving to VB.NET will need a totalrec onsideration of your programming
    type.

    Hope it helps
    Regards
    Serge

visual basic 6 is a lot more powerful then 4.0. it is easy to make a fully
functional messenger within an hour with 6.0 using the winsock control. I
am working on a messenger called agent-m. it will be avalable at agent-m.com
in a few months. I'm using activex exe's and multi threading to make the
server, so it can handle a few thousand users online at the same time.
