How to reduce the size of priv.edb in exchange

Hi,

Somebody can it say to me how to decrease the size of file priv.edb in ms-Exchange.
The file currently has a size of 1,2 GB whereas that does not seem justified.
Is it another reason with this disproportionate size?

The address book include approximately 1300 records and the mail reception
box include approximately 700 elements.

The size of file priv.edb should be approximately 50 Mb.

Hi

Have you tried the eseutil.exe program in the \bin directory?

From the command line type : eseutil /d ispriv

This will defragment the private information store and clear up any "white
space" left in the database therefore compacting the database. Type eseutil
/? for more options.

There's loads of articles in the MS Knowledge Base on best practices.
