    Max number of inputs

    Hello
I'm designing a set of table driven input forms using ASP. My goal is
to keep these ASP pages looking exactly like the State and Federal paper
    forms to ease user training.
If you are familiar with any government form - the number of inputs per
    page is great!
I have been told that a maximum number of HTML input are allowed on a page
exists. Is this true? I can find no such documentation of this.
I have allready created an HTML form with over 650 textboxes - just to
see if it would blow up on the submit. All textboxes came into the action
    page just fine.

Is this more of a design standard to protect the server - a limitation
of previous HTML - or what?

    Thanks so much!

    Re: Max number of inputs

I'm not familiar with any upper-limit on the number of form controls on an
HTML page... where the problem may lie is if you use a form whose METHOD
is set to GET (such that the form values are passed through the QueryString).
Older browsers had a low limit on the number of characters long the URL
+ QueryString could be (some were 128 characters, others 256).

So just be sure to use METHOD = POST on your form and you should be good...
but testing (with various browsers) is the best way to determine if the number
of text boxes and such that you will need are feasible!
