    VB, MTS, COM & DCOM

Well, wide range of different aspects can be covered by these tersm from "Subject"
but I am interested in one answer and that is:
I want to make a habit of using MTS COM and DCOM in my projects... By now,
I have created couple of one-tier solutions, and two-tier by using classes
and ADO 2.1 Library as a reference ... and more but I have never used MTS
COM and DCOM... So I tried .... I am confused on following specifics:
    1) Calling a method from MTS component ( class )
    2) Transfering Data from the component back to the user
    3) Connect to a SWL server database using MTS Component

By now I used a couple of books and all of them did not have enough material
to cover in 1),2)3) aspects.... So I am asking you to help me find either
the books or a www.xxx.xxx where I can talk to different developers or if
you can answer some of these questions. ..... Thank You !!!!

    Hi Jasmin -

Building a VB component for use by MTS is really no different than building
a general VB component. There are just two things you need to really deal
    with.

    1) You need to create your objects appropriately depending on how you want
to set up your MTS transactions.
    2) You will want to keep your components as stateless as possible.

You call an MTS component the same way you call any other VB component. In
terms of SQL server, you access it within the component. The only trick there
is to ensure that there is one ID and password used to connect to the database,
not one ID and password for each user.

    Good luck!
