    CPU allocated to SQL Server

    Hi,

Does anyone know if you can limit the amount of CPU time allocated to SQL
Server? It always seems to be at near 100% whenever our application is updating
the database. We would like the CPU to be free for other processes as well.

I don't know of anyway to limit the amount of processing time that can be
allocated to SQL Server. There's a processor affinity option to limit the
processors that SQL Server will run on, but that's not going to help you.

Maybe it's time for a new or more processors.
