    FM20.DLL

    Hi

I've developed an MSMQ application using VB. All development work has been
    on an NT Workstation 4.0
SP5 with Visual Studio 6.0 SP3. I've packaged my application and have reinstalled
    on several workstations
in my office and all seem to work correctly. The problem lies in when I
install the software to my NT Server 4.0 EE SP6,
I've traced the problem to the FM20.DLL, the GUI controls I'm using reside
    in this module.
I've verified that the FM20.DLL is registered and exists in my WinNT\System32
subdirectory and that it has same date/timestamp
and byte size as the machine that this was packaged on.

I was wondering if there are any compatibility issues with moving code from
    Workstations to EE Servers?
I've gone as far as installing VB 6.0 SP3 on the Server and all the source
code. After the project loads I
try to bring up the form and I receive an error about the control and the
    control is missing from the
    Form.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Wow, that's a wild one.
Did the log files give you any hints (when you couldn't bring up the form?).

    Two possibilities come to mind.

    1. A bug (EE?). Have you checked MSDN?
    2. A security/policy issue. NT Server EE may have different security settings and
policies that could impact FM20.dll. Are you running as administrator? FM20.dll is
part of Office - does Office 2000 run correctly? Have you tried reregistering the DLL?

Anyway, that's all that comes to mind offhand. Personally, I hate these types of
    problems.

    Best of luck

    Dan
