Remote Clients can't access SQL Server
Hey all,
At our corporate site we have a domain controller (PDC, file and print
server) and a seperate server with SQL Server, Exchange - set up as a member
server in the "corporate" domain. Everyone at the corporate site has no
problems logging onto and working with the SQL Server. We have a remote
site, connected with a frame-relay. Here's my problem : From the remote site
I can log on to the "corporate" domain and access all the resources located
on the PDC (well, at least those I have permissions for), however I cannot
log onto and/or access the SQL server. The fact that I can "see" and use
resources on the PDC tells me that the machines can communicate fine, and
that my authentication is getting passed around o.k. Any ideas what I'm
missing to get at the SQL Server?
TIA,
JasonL

Re: Remote Clients can't access SQL Server
In case anyone cares .... I found the problem. Remote site using DHCP, local
not, remote site couldn't resolve server name. Supplied SQL apps with
server's IP address and everything works just dandy.
