MMC Installation Problem
I was using SQL Server 7, one months ago. I want to upgrade to SQL server
2000 and uninstall version 7. But now when i install SQL Server MMC, i had
a error message like this:
Unable to save the setup data necessary to maintain or uninstall to application.
İf i disable MMC option when install SQL server, installation succesfull
without error and SQL server run.
I tried both version ; SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server 7
Hardware Configuration:
HP Omnibook XE3
PIII 700
128 MB Ram
>4 GB HDD

Re: MMC Installation Problem
If I have to guess, I'd suspect that this is a permissioning issue of some
weird kind with a registry key that needs to be modified.
I'm afraid, however, that this one is a tad too specific for me - I haven't
seen it before. You might try the SQL Server Setup newsgroup or contact MS
directly.
Sorry
