    SQL Mail

    Hi Rob,
I have a web App which uses SQL server 2000 database.
I need to send Email messages from database.
There is no Exchange or outlook on this server.
Can I configure SQL Mail to IIS’S CDONTS component?
If so, where can find document to do this?

    Thanks
    Unes

    Re: SQL Mail

I'm sorry to say that I don't know CDO well enough to answer this one
    definitively.

That said, all SQL Mail needs is a MAPI client that knows where an SMTP box
is. I believe CDO can provide an SMTP sending capability, so all that's
missing is the client. My understanding there is that some CDO distributions
include a MAPI client and some don't, but, as I said, I'm not the expert on
that so I don't know for sure.

    Sorry,
