I think Editplus is a very good one, but it is not free. You can try it out
by downloading a trial version. I personally think it is a very smart editor.
It can recognize C/C++, Java, Perl, PHP, ...etc. When you create a new file,
it asks you what kind of file you want to create, then it will follow the
syntax.
