    client side installation

I'm using jdk 1.3 and Forte (from Sun). I would like to know if all workstations
need to install with jdk 1.3 in order to run my swing application?

    Thanks.

No, they don't install the JDK. They install the JRE (Java Runtime
Environment). It's a lot smaller than the JDK and you can distribute it
yourself without violating the JDK licence agreement.
