    Mail program...

I'm in over my head and would appreciate any help. We are installing a system
in our stores that will (probably) be running stripped down NT on a 32meg
flash card. The only purpose of this system is to connect to our intranet.
It will not have a mail client installed. It will not have a hard drive.
Question... what could be written in Java that would allow this without
using much space, and how much space would be taken up? Would you suggest
something other than Java? Thank you for any help you can provide.

Java may be the wrong solution here. The JVM alone may take up atleast
10Mb, NT take up 20Mb+, leaving you with very little for your
    application to work efficiently.

You may want to look into something like Perl (which now has an
extensive set of Socket and URl packages).
