Timeout when connecting to SQL Server 2000
Hi again. When I try to connect to SQL Server 2000s registered in Enterprise
manager, I really encounter problems. Mose of the time I get timeout or something
like can not create file.
I have tried several protocols and it does not change.
Please help. I have to quit 2000 if I can not solve the problem.
Thanks

Re: Timeout when connecting to SQL Server 2000
What is the exact message?
You can change the timeout of Enterprise Manager, Tools->Options Advanced
tab Login timeout, default 10 seconds.
Also make sure you set you package size to 4096 or higher, not to the
default 512 bytes. Last make sure you have the right default client
protocol, it looks like you have named pipes as the default, better use
TCP/IP because it does not use NetBIOS.
