    SQL Server MCP exam

    Rob,
I am presently about to take my second VB test for MCSD and will need to
take the Solutions test and finally I will take an elective.

I am considering taking the Developing SQL Server 2000 or SQL server 7 test.
Can you recommend the best way to prepare for the test and any words of
    wisdom.

    Re: SQL Server MCP exam

The development exam is fairly well covered by my book. Note that I didn't
write the book as as study guide for the exam, but I did write it as as
guide to the server side of developing on SQL Server. That happens to be the
same thing that the 029 and 229 exams are testing.

You can see a list of other books I recommend on my website
    (www.ProfessionalSQL.com).

As far as an approach to the exams goes, I can only speak to 029 at this
point (I haven't taken 229 yet - it isn't out). Basically, be well rested,
and don't sweat it too much. It's a very long exam (4 hours), but it's
different than many MS exams. The goal of the exam was "If they can pass the
test they can do the job". With this in mind, if you study what it takes to
do the job, you're studying for the exam. Unlike many tests, you can't just
memorize the properties of some object or what menu somethings in - you have
to know what you're doing. If you know what you're doing, you'll probably
    pass.
