    clearin the screen from a java program


    hi friends,
    i would like to know whether there is any command to clear the screen at
    runtime from a java program. for example we give cls at the dos command prompt
    for clearing the screen. i want to know if there is any similar command in
    java and if so what it is and what is its syntax

    for (int i=1; i<25; i++) System.out.println("");

    But don't waste too much time trying to get your DOS window to look nice.
    That's what a GUI is for.
