    Developing a chat applet

    Hi,

    what is the best method to communicate between the chat applet and the server,

    (1) applet -> servlet
    OR
    (2) applet -> RMI

    do you have any idea about this, please.

    thanks,
    Hiranya

    may be applet -> RMI is easier and simpler and because you dont need any special
    previlages on the client's machine i think its quite adecquate but I have
    never done any chat stuff before.
    If you have time you can try both and do your own benchmarking.
