    java stock ticker


    does anyone know how they retrieve real-time data to be displayed in stock
    tickers?

    It depends where you getting your data from, if you getting it from a server
    then you will have to check with the adminstrator, you may be able to connect
    to it through RMI or CORBA or any other distributed technology. if you just
    getting your informatioin from a web page you can read the HTML and parse
    it to extract the data you are interested in.
